COVID-19 Update :

Due to the COVID-19 and shelter in place orders, Bamboo Reef's normal processing time for refunds has been adversely impacted. At this time all class and trip refunds will take approximately 30-60 days to process after the shelter in place order has been lifted. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during these difficult times. Bamboo Reef is working hard to process your requests in a timely manner.

Bamboo Reef understands that sometimes life can get in the way of having fun. We will always do our best to work with you and any extenuating circumstances that may arise before your class / tour / trip.

Bookings: General Policies

All bookings and reservations are to be paid in full at the time of registration.

Class and Tour bookings made without full payment are not a guarantee of or confirmation of the reservation and may be forfeited or canceled without notice.

Equipment reservations are optional on some bookings and may be paid at the start of class.

Booking a certification course is not a guarantee of certification. Each course has it's own pre-requisites and requirements laid out by the training agencies that must be met for a certification to be issued. Additionally the instructors may choose not to issue a certification if they believe the student is a danger to themselves or others. 

Trip bookings require a minimum of a deposit (see trip details for more information)

Once a class, dive tour, or trip has started; there are no refunds. 

For classes, if additional training is required then the student is required to schedule and pay for the additional training, pool fees, rental equipment, and any other applicable costs for completion of the training.

Medical Requirements: If a signed physician medical waiver is required for class attendance and one cannot be obtained before the start date of the class, then Bamboo Reef will make it's best efforts to help you reschedule to the next available class date. Rescheduled classes may be subject to a $150-$200 re-booking fee.

Rescheduling: Classes & Tours

*Any cancellations made after having rescheduled will forfeit payment in full*

SCUBA & Freediving Classes -

  • Class rescheduling requests made more than 7 days before the start date of the class can be made without penalty.

  • Class rescheduling requests made between 72 hours and less than 7 days before the start date of the class will be subject to a $200 re-scheduling fee.

  • Class rescheduling requests cannot be made with less than 72 hours before the start date of the class and will forfeit the the class booking in full.

Dive Tours -

  • Dive Tour rescheduling requests made more than 72 hours before the start date of the tour can be made without penalty.

  • Dive Tour rescheduling requests made with less than 72 hours before the start date of the tour will forfeit the Tour booking and be refunded any equipment reservations.

  • Dive Tour rescheduling requests cannot be made less than 24 hours before the start date of the tour and will forfeit the Tour booking in full including any rental equipment reservations.

Private Classes & Dive Professional Courses -

  • Class rescheduling requests made more than 48 hours before the start date of the class can be made without penalty.

  • Class rescheduling requests made with less than 48 hours before the start date of the class will be subject to a $150.00 re-scheduling fee.

Cancellations: Classes & Tours

All classes and tours can be cancelled for a full refund within 24 hours of the original booking. Any cancellations made more than 24 hours after the booking are subject to the rules below.

*Exemptions: Class Bundles and Packages are not available for a refund*

SCUBA & Freediving Classes -

  • Class cancellation requests made more than 7 days before the start date of the class will be refunded the class booking less the student digital training materials.

  • Class cancellation requests made between 72 hours and less than 7 days before the start date of the class will forfeit 50% of the class booking. The remainder will be refunded to the original form of payment.

  • Class cancellation requests made less than 72 hours before the start date of the class will forfeit the class booking in full.

Dive Tours -

  • Dive Tour cancellation requests made more than 72 hours before the start date of the tour will be refunded the full booking.

  • Dive Tour cancellation requests made between 24 hours and less than 72 hopurs before the start date of the tour will forfeit 50% of the Tour booking. The remainder will be refunded to the original form of payment.

  • Dive Tour cancellation requests made less than 24 hours before the start date of the tour will forfeit the booking in full including any rental equipment reservations.

Private Classes & Dive Professional Courses -

  • Class cancellation requests made more than 30 days before the start date of the class will be refunded the class booking less the student digital training materials.

  • Class cancellation requests made with less than 30 days before the start date of the class will forfeit the class booking in full.

Weather -

All Classes and Tours are subject to weather and any unforeseen circumstances and may be cancelled or rescheduled.

In the event a class or tour is cancelled due to weather then Bamboo Reef will make it's best effort to reschedule you within a timely manner. In the event Bamboo Reef cannot reschedule you, you will be issued a gift card for the value of the cancelled event.

Dive Bundles & Packages:

All Dive Bundles (Specialty, Advanced, Master Diver or Open Water Bundles including but not limited to Nitrox and Dry Suit) and all Packages (class add ons including but not limited to ocean dive add ons) can be cancelled for a refund within 24 hours of the original booking. Digital course materials are non-refundable once issued to you.

Packages are non-refundable and non-transferable.

 

Trips: Rescheduling and Cancellations

Monterey Boat Dives -

Bamboo Reef requires 48 hours notice for all rescheduling and cancellations. Any rescheduling or cancellations with less than 48 hours notice will forfeit payment in full.

Bamboo Reef Dive Trips - Channel Islands and International

Regional Trips - Channel Islands

Bamboo Reef requires 60 days notice from the date of departure for all rescheduling and cancellations. A refund will be provided to the original form of payment or by check minus the trip deposit. Any rescheduling or cancellations requests made with less than 60 days notice from the date of departure will forfeit payment in full.

International Trips -

Bamboo Reef requires 90 days notice from the date of departure for all rescheduling and cancellations. A refund will be provided to the original form of payment or by check minus the trip deposit. Any rescheduling or cancellations requests made with less than 90 days notice from the date of departure will forfeit payment in full.

Rescheduling & Cancellation: Best Effort

Bamboo Reef will make it's best effort to find a replacement for your cancelled or rescheduled class, less the re-booking and cancellation fees.

Classes - If you re-book your class and Bamboo Reef is able to find a replacement then Bamboo Reef will transfer your booking minus the re-booking fees. If you cancel your class and Bamboo Reef is able to find a replacement then Bamboo Reef will refund your booking minus the cancellation fees.

Trips - If you re-book your trip and Bamboo Reef is able to find a replacement then Bamboo Reef will transfer your booking minus the re-booking fees. If you cancel your trip and Bamboo Reef is able to find a replacement then Bamboo Reef will refund your booking minus the cancellation fees.

Force Majeure:

“Force Majeure” means, in relation to Bamboo Reef Dive Trips, any circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Bamboo Reef (including, but without limitation, acts of God, explosion, flood, tempest, forceful wind, fire or accident, war or threat of war declared or undeclared, acts of terrorism, sabotage, insurrection, riots, strikes, civil disturbance, requisition, sickness, quarantine, government intervention, weather conditions, defects in machinery and vehicles, delay, wildlife, or other untoward occurrences).

Bamboo Reef shall not be deemed to be in breach of these terms and conditions or otherwise be liable to you, by reason of delay in performance, or by non-performance, of any of its obligations hereunder to the extent that any such delay or non-performance is due to any Force Majeure. THE PURCHASE OF TRAVEL INSURANCE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ON ALL TRIPS.

If Bamboo Reef, and/or any of its travel suppliers, are affected by Force Majeure, they shall be entitled to, and may in their sole and absolute discretion, vary or cancel any itinerary or arrangement in relation to the trip. Payment of any refund by Bamboo Reef to you as a result of the non-performance of any obligations hereunder shall remain in its sole and absolute discretion, although Bamboo Reef shall use its reasonable efforts to reimburse you where possible. However, Bamboo Reef shall be entitled to deduct from any refund recoverable the reasonable actual and potential costs to Bamboo Reef of the Force Majeure and applicable cancellation fees.

Regarding civil unrest, once Bamboo Reef has investigated the prevailing situation, as it deems fit, it shall remain in Bamboo Reef's sole and absolute discretion whether to proceed with the trip. You may in such circumstances cancel the trip subject to Bamboo Reef's and each supplier’s terms and conditions.
